Celebrating Differences: Navigating the relationship between Corporate Relations and Prospect Research

In 2017, The University of Texas at Austin’s development office launched a new prospect management system, new fundraising expectations, and doubled the size of its prospect research and management team. Though these updates ultimately led to more cohesive fundraising efforts, they also highlighted the need for additional corporate relations support. With the help of a CFR prospect policy, meeting standardization, and institutional support, this session will cover ways to successfully collaborate with corporate gift officers and manage corporations in a prospect system.

Sarah Doering is a senior research analyst at The University of Texas at Austin, where she supports corporate relations gift officers in Texas Development and across campus. She previously served as a development associate at The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the fine arts director at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. In her spare time, you can find Sarah performing at one of Austin’s local improv theaters with her award winning troupe, Girls Girls Girls – Improvised Musicals.
